The Mental Health Association of Alameda County (MHAAC) has been serving people with mental illness and their families throughout Alameda County since 1958. The MHAAC is a non-profit agency governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

Funding
MHAAC's current fiscal year budget is $2,950,000; of this, 90% comes from contracts with Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services and San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services and the remainder from special events revenue and individual contributions.

MHAAC is an independent local affiliate of the Mental Health Association in California, which is based in Sacramento, and the Mental Health America with offices in Alexandria, Virgina.
