Family-Focused Programs

Since the early 1990s, MHAAC has sponsored an African American Family Support Group that meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month. In 2017, MHAAC started offering workshops in partnership with the African American Family Outreach Project Steering Committee to help African American families talk, learn about, and cope with mental health conditions and/or substance abuse in their families. Our goal is to provide a safe space for African American families to share their experiences and meet with other families who understand what they’re going through. These programs are led by African American staff who are caregivers of loved ones living with Mental Health conditions. We have been there and we can help.
